GRADE 1 MS.RIENZI WELCOME BACK! SEPTEMBER 3. 2025
Welcome to all my first grade students as we begin an exciting fun-filled 2025-2026 school year!
Please remember to bring back your summer assignments today, September 3rd. They will be graded. I can't wait to see them. I will be collecting them . Get a good night sleep and bring in your supplies as well which should be a shoe size art box with all your supplies inside.
The children will be bringing home two workbooks each day beginning Monday September 8 th, so that you can cover them with clear contact paper. This is necessary because the children can easily find their books and their soft covers will stay on all year! Please put your child's name on inside tags on their sweatshirt pants sweaters and jackets using permanent marker. Thank You!!!
Monday - September 8th - Thank you to all my parents that sent in our classroom supplies and your child's art box to hold their art supplies. We'll will be reviewing our phonic sounds and vocabulary learned in kindergarten and we're getting ready to learn more vocabulary as we begin our CKLA reading program. Music is always a part of our day. We will be dancing to songs to move around and learn through educational videos. Homework will start this week. We will have reading and math each night. Homework will be posted here so you know what is to be completed. Vocabulary words will be introduced and the children will write them down in a notebook that is supplied. I'm asking that you help them write a sentence for each word. They will read their sentences to me the next day. A good idea is to make flash cards for the words you see each week and practice at home to increase vocabulary and reinforce their reading skills. We will do this each day in class as well Math Practice workbooks will be the book to look for each night as well. This book goes home to reinforce skills learned each day for homework.

Please send in a snack with your child. Send in a few drinks as well. Reading homework will be done in your child's reading notebook. Your child will copy vocabulary words each day and write a sentence for each one. Summer work was collected last week. Your child will received a grade for the completed work. New students who just received the work have until the first week of October to hand it in to me. Our back to school will be posted soon. Dear Parents,
Please contact your child's workbooks. I will continue to send them home a few books each night so their backpacks are not too heavy. We're off to a great start. Please put your child's name in the inside tag of their gym sweatshirt, sweater, and jackets so it's easy to find out who it belongs to when it is misplaced. Thanks for your assistance !
** Breakfast and lunch -Please make sure your child knows to order Breakfast and lunch if you want them to. If they have breakfast at home with you then send in a snack that they can have when breakfast arrives. If you send a lunch in with your child, let them know they shouldn't order lunch if it's in their lunch box. Thank you for your assistance. If I don't see a lunch in your child's lunch box they will receive one. Have a great day.
