FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
I gladly welcome the second grade in my class.
Today, the second graders are excited to start another school year with me.  We went on reviewing our classroom rules.  We discuss our plans and future things that will take place in our classroom for the coming days in School.  I listen to their expectations and needs for them to navigate the second grade better and productive.
I welcome the second grade parents/ guardians to any comments or suggestions that will help me facilitate the learning experience of the second graders in my classroom.
We have reading assignment of the Skill reader 1 . They can read Chapters 1 and 2 this week .

Welcome back second graders !
Today we start fresh with a better day.  We were talking about a New Year resolution.  
Most of the second graders will be having their sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation this coming January 13th.  Saturday and January 20th.  Our class will have the 13th to do the confession.  Reminder for First Communion parents to attend the parent meeting this coming Saturday, January 6Th  at 9:15 in the school gym.  At least one parent is required to attend.
Homework: MATH : Addition Practice pp.19 and 180.

It's a tag day too, they can wear something else but they have to pay $2.

RED Ribbon Week
Beginning today is the start of Red Ribbon Week. We start the first day by tieing a red ribbon around the tree in the front of our school together with the first graders, then we are making ribbons to decorate our door for the contest.
There's a paper that goes home today for the Red Ribbon schedule.
This year's theme is " Be Kind to your Mind".

We had a good day, we did painting for Art that's why some of my students came home with paint traces on their skin and clothes but  the paint is water based, it is washable.
Important:  Let them bring a smock clothing (oversized old clothes)  for protection from paint.

I am so excited to start another school year with you. 

I am also very grateful to the parents who send their supplies and most of all for helping their children complete their summer work.  This will count as part of the grade.

Tonight the second graders came home with a form for the application to sign up for the First Communion class and a Math homework pages 3 and 4  "Count on to Add and Extend Facts to 20".

Tonight will be our Spring Concert.  We will be back by 6:30 for the concert.  We will be wearing our best Spring outfit.
Tomorrow will be our field day, students will wear their gym clothes and bring cold drinks like water.  Use sunblock lotion to protect from the sun.

It's First Friday of May,  St. Peter's students and staff went to hear mass at 8:30 and we have the crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary after the mass.  We have have day session and It is a Taco Night for our fund raising.
